Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic and competent Accountant to support our growing finance team in Gdańsk to provide transactional support to the Group and play an important role in the day-to-day accounting needs of the business. You will assist in month-end closing processes alongside owning the day-to-day transactional postings.

Ultimately, you’ll help maintain our company’s financial health and make sure we use our resources beneficially. You will gain increasing experience as the company grows whilst utilising the best technology and develop processes for a lean mean finance function.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Provide accounting transactional support
• Posting of daily bank transactions to the ERP system and performing weekly bank reconciliations.
• Preparing, reconciling and posting employee expenses, credit cards and purchasing cards and ensuring that we have the relevant supporting documents for each transaction.
• Inter-company re-invoicing and reconciliations between entities ensuring that inter-company transactions are captured and recorded in all entities in a timely manner.
• Support timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close, including journal entries, balance sheet account reconciliations
• Assist with the preparation and execution of our annual audit process and providing high quality audit schedules and supporting documentation to our external auditors.
• Any other ad-hoc accounting duties as and when required.
• Ensuring compliance with IFRS accounting standards.
• Any other ad hoc tasks as and when required.

Skills & Requirements

Qualifications/education/experience:

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an Accounting or a similar role.
• Degree in accounting, business accounting, or finance or similar.
• IFRS experience is desirable.
• Experience with working in shared service centres is a merit
• Experience of working with medium to large companies is preferred.

Specific skills:

• High level of energy and enthusiasm to work in a fast moving business
• Able to work independently and drive issues to conclusion.
• Experience with mid tier ERP systems; Dynamics365 experience is preferred but not essential.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office with knowledge of Excel (vlookups, pivot tables etc.)
• Able to work well with others in a team environment.
• Effective communication skills
• Highly accurate and detail oriented.
• Business language of Northvolt is English. Polish/Swedish is a plus

Alongside Northvolt Ett, Northvolt is also establishing a manufacturing site for battery systems in Gdansk, Poland. This facility, Northvolt Battery Systems Jeden, will industrialize and produce world leading battery systems in order to meet the increased demand for complete battery solutions on the European market. The factory is a highly automated, state-of-the-art production facility for battery modules and energy storage solutions.

We are currently in an exciting fast-growing phase and operate in a dynamic environment, dealing with a wide range of stakeholders. We are staffing our international office in Stockholm, our R&D facility, Northvolt Labs in Västerås, as well as Northvolt Battery Systems Jeden, in Gdansk, for production of battery systems. We are also preparing for upcoming positions at the main factory, Northvolt Ett, in Skellefteå.
