Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Director of Procurement Materials to join us in our mission to contribute to a greener future. The role is a part of our excellent Revolt team based in Vasteras.

We are looking for an operationally experienced Director of Procurement to lead and develop the Procurement department in Northvolt’s business unit Materials.

As a team, and in co-operation with for example the Programs, Operations and Feedstock Supply Chain departments, you will strategically and operationally lead the procurement for the Business Unit, including a project procurement team handling all equipment and construction procurement as well as a team handling operational site purchasing.

The Materials Business Unit is under intense ramp-up and incorporates the recycling division (Revolt) as well as the Cathode Active Material division (CAM). The industrial plants that are being ramped and developed over the coming years are primarily developed for chemical process technology but also include major mechanical process equipment. The procurement team consist today of around 10+ people and is growing. In this role, you will be reporting to the VP of Business Operations at Revolt and be part of the Business Operations Management team.

Job scope: Responsible for leading the purchasing department for Materials business unit. • Defining and driving overall procurement strategy for all technologies, materials and services necessary for Cathode Active Materials (CAM) and recycling facilities (Revolt’s) investments, operations and R&D (except for direct materials for recycling). • Ensuring the procurements strategies are fully aligned with Materials goals and objectives both on strategic and tactical levels, including meeting sustainability targets as well as approved budgets and timelines. • Establishing and developing sustainable procurement processes and procedures to support efficient company growth. • Growing and developing a team of procurement professionals to support the execution of procurement activities across all processes, both projects and operations. • Ensuring an effective collaboration and alignment across functions in the Materials business unit and with the other Northvolt teams, leveraging on expertise and synergies. Key responsibilities include: Overall areas of responsibility and activities: • Purchasing Team leadership: drive, develop and steer the team towards ambitious goals in alignment with the company objectives, including meeting environmental and sustainability targets. • Define short, medium, long-term strategies for procurement in the CAM and recycling business supporting R&D, industrial scale investment projects, and operations across multiple sites. • Define and develop procurement processes and tools to support company growth in an efficient manner. Public • Develop and industrialize supply chain market in a new and dynamic environment to support company growth. • Drive Materials Sourcing Council and lead sourcing decisions for the business unit, in accordance with the company policies. • Ensure a close cooperation with all departments and alignment with the business targets and priorities

Skills & Requirements

We believe that you have :

  • 10+ years of experience in Procurement
  • BSC/MSc degree in Supply Chain/Business/Operations/Engineering or related study
  • Knowledge of end-to-end procurement process, methodologies, tools and best practices
  • Experience in leadership roles, people management and communication up to C-levels
  • Background in B2B industry and project business
  • Min 5 years’ experience in EPC/M and major investment procurement on industrial scale projects.
  • Experience in strategic procurement in a large company
  • Fluent in English, other languages are a plus
  • Specific skills (eg specific programmes, languages, certifications etc)
  • Leadership and communication, able to drive and support a team of specialists towards challenging targets and develop team skills
