High-Voltage Substation Engineer

A Snapshot of Your Day

As HV GIS Design Engineer you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary project team to develop and deliver optimized high-voltage gas-insulated switchgear solutions for customers worldwide. From clarifying customer requirements to final handover, you manage the entire engineering process, resolve issues quickly and drive continuous improvement.

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Prepare technical specifications, data sheets and inspection sheets for HV primary equipment: circuit breakers, disconnectors, CT/VT transformers, surge arresters, GIS switchgear, etc.
• Execute technical bid evaluations, recommend equipment and lead supplier negotiations.
• Represent Siemens Energy in customer and consultant meetings; ensure compliance with IEC, IEEE, EN and VDE standards.
• Support project management, sales, purchasing and PLM teams with technical expertise during quotation and execution phases.
• Develop technical documentation for proposals and orders and provide on-site support when required.

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering plus 5 years of experience with HV products or substations (field service, project or product engineering).
• Solid knowledge of HV equipment and international standards for AC & DC systems >1 kV.
• Proficiency in 2D/3D CAD tools (AutoCAD, Inventor, Navisworks, CREO, Primtech or similar).
• Advanced English; additional languages are an asset.
