Together with more than 400 colleagues from +45 nationalities, we enable electric vehicle drivers around Europe to fast-charge their cars with green energy and lead the way in making mobility sustainable. In this role, you will drive the growth of our locations, as our goal is a European network of 1,000 fast charging stations on prime locations. Fastned is a fast growing, listed scaleup company and is currently active in nine countries. 

Your Role

As Country Director,, you will be responsible for leading Fastned’s growth and operations in Switzerland, ensuring we become a top 3 player in EV fast charging. You will represent Fastned externally, drive strategic execution, ensure smooth operations, develop a high-performing local team, and oversee financial performance. This is a high-impact leadership role requiring strategic vision, operational excellence, and strong people leadership.  

Represent Fastned in your market

  • Act as the local face of Fastned, engaging with government bodies, industry stakeholders, and media to strengthen our market position.  

  • Be the public face of public affairs and advocacy efforts, helping shape policies that support EV infrastructure growth.  

  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with local partners, suppliers, and key stakeholders in the EV ecosystem.  

  • Represent your market towards Fastned’s central policies and decision making by providing feedback on proposed plans and once decided: supporting and upholding the company policies in your market.

  • Ensure compliance with local regulations, working closely with legal and financial teams to mitigate risks.  

Shape your country strategy & execution

  • Create the strategic plan for your country, ensuring alignment with Fastned’s company-wide vision while adapting to market-specific dynamics.  

  • Stay ahead of market trends, competitive movements, and policy changes within your country and incorporate these insights into your strategic planning. 

  • Ensure your country strategy is properly executed by leading and aligning the organization behind your countries shared goals and objectives for the next 2-5 years.

  • For the mid and shorter term, ensure each team is set up to execute on the business plans for the next 2 years and manage the efforts from the local teams to deliver the annual tactical plans.

Drive operational excellence

  • Manage the pipeline plans for your market and drive cross-functional collaboration across pipeline teams to ensure new locations are found and built in time (Network Development, Location Design & Construction) to deliver on your strategic objectives. 

  • Ensure a seamless customer experience by working closely with the Local Operations team (Nops, Fops and Retail Area Managers) to guarantee high uptime, clean and functioning stations and shops, optimize station performance, a great charging experience and adherence to local regulations.  

  • Ensure efficient day-to-day operations, identifying and removing bottlenecks that slow down execution.  

Display people & culture leadership  

  • Build and develop a high-performing, mission-driven team, ensuring the right talent is in place to drive success.  

  • Lead the workforce planning exercise for your country, be part of selection processes for key roles, onboarding new employees, and coaching your local leadership team.  

  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and ownership, ensuring alignment with Fastned’s values and mission.  

  • Ensure smooth communication and alignment between local teams and global functional leadership.  

Manage financial & commercial performance

  • Take full ownership of the P&L for your market, balancing revenue growth with cost efficiency to meet financial targets.  

  • Work closely with the commercial team in your country to drive revenue growth, customer acquisition, brand visibility, and local marketing efforts.  

  • Identify new revenue opportunities, partnerships, and strategic initiatives to maximize market share and profitability.  

  • Ensure local pricing strategies, promotions, and business models align with country requirements and Fastned’s broader commercial objectives.
