About the jobAs the Fire and ATEX Specialist, you will report to the Senior HSE Manager in Västerås. This role is a specialist role with the opportunity to advance into  lead role.Your key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Fire Protection & Emergency Response:Leading systematic fire protection efforts, including LBE and LSO compliance. Developing and implementing effective emergency response strategies.
  • ATEX Compliance:Acting as Northvolt Västerås' go-to specialist for ATEX regulations, ensuring operational and strategic compliance. Staying informed on relevant external changes.
  • Legislation & Compliance:Ensuring our processes align with legal requirements and continuously improving practices within your scope.
  • Training & Development:Providing training for managers and employees on fire safety and ATEX regulations.
  • Technical Advisory & Inspections:Advising on technical fire protection installations and conducting inspections for new constructions and renovations. Handling insurance matters and enhancing loss prevention efforts.

We are looking for a driven, flexible, and persistent individual who excels at working independently and systematically. You thrive in close collaboration with the business, enjoy being on-site, and possess strong pedagogical skills that inspire a strong safety culture. You are comfortable interacting with authorities and have experience engaging in government dialogues, driven by a commitment to fostering a positive safety environment.

Skills & Requirements

We believe that you have :

  • BSc or MSc degree in Fire Safety, Chemistry or HSE
  • Proven experience in fire safety management and ATEX compliance
  • Industry or rescue service experience within fire, damage prevention and crisis management
  • Excellent English & Swedish written and oral skills
  • Driver's license B

Bonus points for:

  • Experience and interest in manufacturing industry
  • Experience from a multi-cultural environment
