Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Material Flow Engineer to join us in our mission to contribute to a greener future. The role is a part of our excellent Factory Design and Engineering.

About the job

The Material Flow Integration Engineer is responsible for integrating material flow systems into the overall design of gigafactories and gigafactory sites, ensuring seamless coordination between production processes, logistics, and facility layout. They play a critical role in optimizing material flow efficiency and throughput to support the successful operation of manufacturing facilities.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand production requirements, inventory management strategy, and facility layout constraints.
  • Develop material flow integration strategies that maximize efficiency, minimize waste, and optimize resource utilization within gigafactory environments.
  • Design & model interfaces for material handling systems, conveyor systems, and other equipment to support smooth and efficient material flow.
  • Work closely with architects and engineers to integrate site flow considerations into overall facility design
  • Conduct feasibility studies and business case calculations to evaluate proposed material flow designs and identify potential bottlenecks or areas for improvement.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to local site teams during the implementation and commissioning of material flow solutions.

Skills & Requirements

We believe that you have :

  • A BSc or a MSc Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • +3 years working experience in material flow engineering, logistics planning, or related field, preferably in battery manufacturing or a similar industrial environment.
  • Strong understanding of material handling equipment, conveyor systems, AGVs, and other logistics automation technologies.
  • Excellent English written and oral skills
  • Experience in a multi-cultural, cross-functional collaboration environment.

Bonus points for:

  • Experience and interest in manufacturing industry.
  • Experience with project management methodologies and tools is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and draw actionable insight.
