How to contribute to our vision

We are looking for a flexible Senior Technician to join our Global Offshore Major Projects team.

You will report into the Project & Site Manager as part of a team of flexible specialists, with responsibility for supporting various sites across our Offshore Service fleet.This will mainly be in the capacity of Senior Technician tasks, but with the potential to also support with Site Management and Production Engineer activities.This team will travel to and be allocated to whichever of our offshore fleet requires support.A flexible approach to travel and working away from home is essential as is working and staying overnight offshore for extended periods of time. We offer a competitive basic salary, holiday allowances, bonus scheme and pension.

This will be an exciting and varied role where every day will pose an interesting challenge. Some of the tasks you can expect to be involved in include:

  • Active safety leadership whether in the wind turbine or back office, ensure correct reporting of incidents and accidents, near misses and unsafe acts and conditions. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with SGRE standards and UK legislation in relation to EHS, Quality and Service delivery

  • Responsible for technical and safety documentation production and management. You will also drive and develop Risk Assessments and Method Statements for work packages or tasks. In addition to developing and delivering technical and safety Tool Box Talk’s

  • Technical lead for the management of day to day technical queries with Service Technology and field staff. You will be responsible for the remote diagnosis of turbine faults and direct technical supervision of critical tasks as required

  • Ensure compliance with customer and contractual obligations whilst executing work packages and tasks

  • Involvement in technician competency development and mentoring both for customer, contractor and SGRE technicians

  • Own the creation of daily, weekly plans for site teams in conjunction with on site staff and Campaign operational Planners

  • Aim to increase customer satisfaction as well as SGRE commercial performance by looking to optimise availability and reduce downtime.

  • Occasionally cover for the Site Manager role therefore have a basic understanding of the key deliverables of this role

 What you need to make a difference

A passion for renewable energy and a sense for the importance to lead the change. We are also looking for…

  • Experience working as a DD Trouble Shooter within SGRE, working alongside contractors and customers

  • a Comprehensive understanding of and a consistent ability to demonstrate your own competency levels as a Technician, Competent Technician, Maintenance Technician and Troubleshoot Technician

  • Understanding that the role will require going offshore to lead teams, and check quality of works

  • Practical experience of working with Fluix, SAP, MORS, remote diagnostic tools, and MS Office packages

  • Someone with a clean driving license able to travel anywhere in the World to support our sites

  • The ability to work shifts as required by the role being supported and the site needs

  • A passion for health and safety, ideally qualified to write lift plans, or be willing to take on this additional training
