Job Description

As a Tech Lead you will be solving complex technical problems impacting thousands of customers. You’ll be joining a brand-new team of engineers, working on projects from scratch. You will collaborate closely with non-technical stakeholders and the tech team. You will be reporting directly to the CTO.  At Metrify, Tech Leads provide clear technical direction and set a high bar for quality.You will be a hands-on technical leader who drive impact through strong delivery and thoughtful architecture, taking ownership of complex initiatives and influencing outcomes across multiple teams and domains.We are looking for proactive engineers that will make the lives of our customers and Metrify itself better.    At Metrify, you will:  <ul><li>Translate strategy into execution: You’ll turn high-level technical direction into clear plans, priorities, and results, closely collaborating with Product. </li><li>End-to-End Product Ownership: You'll build, implement, and own solutions end-to-end, collaborating closely with the team and directly with stakeholders to design, deliver, and iterate product features. </li><li>Fullstack Architecture: You’ll design and build reliable backend systems, integrating and synchronizing external systems (CRM, WFM, Wilken) with our internal data. You'll also contribute to frontend development to ensure seamless integration across the stack. </li><li>Mentorship & Knowledge Sharing: You’ll coach junior developers, foster a culture of clean code and innovation, and lead by example in technical discussions. </li><li>Workflow & Business Rules: You’ll partner with data engineers and platform engineers to develop or integrate rule engines and automation scripts that support device or data-driven operations (e.g., self-healing, auto-escalation).  </li><li>Code Quality & Testing: You’ll maintain best practices in unit testing, code review, and continuous integration.  </li><li>Performance & Reliability: You’ll monitor and optimize service performance and troubleshoot complex issues across multiple environments.  </li><li>Steering for empathy and understanding: Only when we comprehend what the market needs we can create solutions that truly address underlying challenges. Ask critical questions and listen to operations, craftspeople, sales - there are so many stakeholders and users to get input from, and balancing their needs leads to the best solutions.  </li></ul>

Qualifications

You don’t need to meet 100% of the qualifications to be considered — we value potential, curiosity, and a willingness to learn: <ul><li>You gained solid experience in software development with a focus on backend systems, building distributed and high-availability services. </li><li>You are highly independent and an owner. You have experience owning complex technical initiatives from concept through execution </li><li>You are comfortable making sound technical decisions in ambiguous or evolving contexts </li><li>You are experienced in TypeScript/Node.js, Python, or C#, or you're a tech-agnostic, coming from a different background. Ideally, you have worked with RESTful API design, service-oriented architecture, and database interactions (SQL & NoSQL). </li><li>You have work experience with building cloud-native applications  </li><li>Familiarity with containers (Docker), cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), CI/CD pipelines, external APIs, or event-driven architectures is nice to have. </li><li>You communicate clearly in English, spoken and written. Knowledge of German is a plus.  </li><li>Agile and lean values are embodied by you. People over processes. Code over documentation.
