Our digital team here at Hull is leading SGRE (Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy) Hull in a digital transformation across the plant, focusing on advancing plant operations through innovative software solutions and smarter data utilisation. As part of this initiative, you will have the opportunity to engage in various activities.

Note: All shortlisted candidates must be available to attend an Assessment Centre on 11th February 2025 (full day) at Hull University.

Some of your key tasks will include but not be limited to:

  • Supporting the Digital team in a variety of software programming and agile projects, including, ASP.Net core web applications, Unity Simulations and PLC data collection analytics.

  • Working with our Data Controlling team to turn data into useful information and digitalised solutions to problems.

  • Continued analysis of processes and data on site to identify improvement opportunities and chances for AI (Artificial Intelligence) and ML (Machine Learning).

  • Exposure to project and programme management, ensuring that best practice project management principles are in place.

  • Supporting the department in standardisation and good document management practices.

  • Supporting continuous improvement activities in defined areas of responsibility.

  • Assisting in the organisation and facilitation of meetings, workshops and events.

  • Creation and maintenance of KPI dashboards (PowerBI).

What You Need to Make a Difference

A passion for renewable energy and a sense for the importance to lead the change. We are also looking for…

  • A passion for Computer Science

  • A basic understanding of sprints and working in a semi-agile environment

  • Individuals with a structured, logical approach to problems and solutions

  • A knowledge of programming languages would be advantageous

  • you will need to be currently studying towards a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT or a related discipline
