We are looking for a passionate Factory Design Manager to join us in our mission to contribute to a greener future.

You will be part of the Project Engineering team that will drive the construction of our new battery factory in Heide, Germany. Built in multiple phases over 5+ years the factory represents a multi-billion Euro investment project. Together with your colleagues from the Program team you will be accountable to lead internal and external teams cross-functionally to deliver on company targets and in line with customer expectations.

About the job Responsible for managing the coordinated multi-discipline design of Northvolt Drei's (NV3) Factory building or area from basic design, detailed design, As Built and final handover to the NV3 Operations and Maintenance depts.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Managing the NV3 design team to follow the project execution plan.
• Managing the Northvolt design input to external design parties by interfacing with internal Northvolt stakeholders.
• Managing the external design parties, tracking progress and flagging any threats to the delivery.
• Managing the Northvolt design reviews and modelling.
• Managing design changes.
• Driving value engineering in the project.

Skills & Requirements

We believe that you have :

• M.Sc. or Chartered or Professional Engineer in the Civil, Structural, Architectural, Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Instrumentation & Control & Industrial engineering fields
• Minimum of 5 years experience in the design/engineering of heavy industrial, advanced manufacturing, or chemical process facilities. Battery factory experience is ideal, but not required. Other facility types that are seen as relevant and welcome: pharmaceutical, data centres, automotive, food & beverage manufacturing, etc.
• Have experience in multi-disciplinary engineering coordination, interfacing with construction and internal/external stakeholders.
• Experience working on international industrial projects and in multi-cultural environments.
• Experience in commissioning, start-up, and hand over of industrial facilities.
• Fluency in English
• Familiarity with standard office and management software tools and platforms.
• Basic Project Manager skills.

• Experience in commissioning, start-up and hand over of industrial facilities.

• Fluency in other languages (German, Swedish, Japanese, Chinese, French)

• Experience from a multi-cultural environment
