Job Description

We are looking for a experienced Material Flow Systems Engineer to join us in our mission to contribute to a greener future. The role is a part of our excellent Engineering team based in Skellefteå. By joining us, you will be a key player in ramping up Northvolt ETT and contribute to building one of the first large scale European battery factories.

As a Material Flow Systems Engineer at Northvolt, your role involves managing industrial material flow projects for advanced facilities. You'll analyze flows, collaborate across areas like Material Flow Engineering and Automation, ensuring lean solutions.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for the material flow value stream map for specified blocks, analysis of the information and material flows and associated improvements.
  • Responsible driver behind direct, indirect, and return flows, discovering gaps and improvements for specific blocks.
  • Responsible for defining and contributing to following cross functional Blueprint, Simulation and Execution areas, where Blueprint is referring to a lean, standardized and a flexible enough solution for a designated factory block to easily be adopted and scaled. (Material Flow Engineering and Blueprint, Automation Engineering, Factory Simulations, Traffic Control Software Engineering, Internal Operations, Quality )
  • Holistic Material Flow design and execution. Responsible for clearly determining, documenting, and implementing the “state and resolution” aspects of each material.

Skills & Requirements

We believe that you have :

  • Master of science or higher degree in mechanical, industrial, or electrical engineering or equivalent
  • 5+ years of experience within process-driven or discrete process industries such as: Packaging, FMCG, Paper Mill, Semiconductors, Fine Chemicals, Pharma, Food etc.
  • Industrial experience in demanding industrial environments
  • Must have worked in multi-cultural environment

  • Excellent English written and oral skills
  • Highly execution-oriented
  • Ability to work under high pressure and tight deadlines
  • Excellent time management skills
