Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Operational Technology (OT) Support Engineer to join us in our mission to contribute to a greener future. The role is a part of our passionate Digital Solutions team in Materials Business Unit. By joining us, you will be a key player in ramping up Northvolt Materials and contribute to building one of the first large scale European battery factories.

About the job

The OT Support Engineer will be responsible for handling and routing incidents in automation and other IT/OT systems for operations at Materials Business Unit at the Northvolt Ett site in Skellefteå. The person we are looking for are service minded, has the skills and personality to handle a wide range of IT/OT issues and high self-leadership qualities. As the tasks are varied and based on prioritization, it is important that you can easily switch focus between different tasks. You are also a person who is driven by working in a team and sees the benefits of sharing knowledge and experience.

This role is focused on (but not limited to) helpdesk style operation that will directly impact production and the supporting functions. The person will provide level 2 and 3 support for the designated factories, working closely together with our Northvolt ETT Digitalization Demand & Support Team including effective incident handling.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Pick up, analyze, solve, document and route incident tickets in manufacturing IT/OT systems
  • Handle bug reports

Skills & Requirements

To be successful in the role, it is preferred to have experience in automation systems including SCADA/DCS/PLC.

It is a bonus to have knowledge of specific manufacturing and IT processes are desirable competences for this role. These include:

  • ERP systems
  • MES systems
  • LIMS systems
  • General manufacturing experience

We believe that you have:

  • Bachelor of science or equivalent experience in automation, industrial engineering or similar
  • At least 3 years of experience in manufacturing and/or manufacturing IT/OT organisation
  • Experience from automation systems such as SCADA/DCS/PLC
  • Good to have worked in and have knowledge of systems like ERP, LIMS, PLM, MES
  • Excellent English written and oral skills
  • Elementary computer literacy (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Ability to work under high pressure and with tight deadlines
  • Strong organizational skills for managing large volumes of documentation.
  • Proficient in both team collaboration and independent work.
  • Strong communication skills
