Job Description

Job scope:

Responsible for quality connected engineering work and support. In addition to that, representing the company in the eyes of the customer when it comes to quality culture. Building a pro-quality image of the company, being an example of an excellent approach to the tasks set for all co-workers and constantly looking for innovative solutions.

Key responsibilities:

  • Work in accordance with safety system guidelines.
  • Work in accordance with the guidelines of the quality management system and environmental management based on the internal procedures and instructions.
  • Implementing quality standards and quality mindset in the organization.
  • Advanced Quality Planning. Process analysis and preparation of quality documentation for new projects.
  • Lead FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) (with special emphasis on critical and special characteristics analysis), create inspection plans, apply standard quality and statistical techniques to ensure product quality.
  • Validation of process/product changes during the “life” of a given product in serial production.
  • Creating documents and quality reports
  • Initiating and implementing corrective and preventive actions, always focusing on systemic actions.
  • Participating in implementations of new projects and supervise Production Trial Run. Presence during the production, analyzing the process, confronting the results with the design assumption, and set objectives, initiating, and supervising the implementation of corrective and preventive actions (focusing on systemic actions)
  • Continuous process improvement. Continually seeking within one’s work and the work of entire plant.
  • Defining, implementing, and documenting measurement methods and control plans
  • Lessons learned and Quality plan. Based on collected data (claims, internal quality data) create and update quality plan and lessons learn to each complaint sent by the customer and to each significant problem found within the organization.
  • Building strategic actions to improve internal quality.

  • Involvement in the preparation of conformity matrix based on specific customer requirements.

  • If necessary, implement a Northvolt recovery plan (NRP)

  • Organizing internal trainings

  • Perform other tasks assigned by manager.

Skills & Requirements

Accountability/ authorization:

  • Budget responsibility: No

  • Stop shipment of finished products from production until PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) or deviation will be signed by the Customer.
  • Stop production process if a non-conformance will be detected that jeopardizes job/product safety and/or results in non-conforming products, and/or may result in a complaint from the customer
  • Decide regarding the conditional release of non-compliant product process in form of deviation, but always based on a properly prepared risk assessment.
  • Lead the work of the complaint resolution team and demand active and effective performance from team members.
  • Authorized to decide on investments according to role and policy
  • Authorized to report any quality, environment or health and safety nonconformities, ideas, risks, and opportunities

Requirements:

  • MSc degree in technical engineering
  • Experience in manufacturing company (min 3 years)

  • Command of spoken and written English at level that allows you to communicate freely with foreign customers or Northvolt team members.

  • Command of spoken and written Polish at level that allows you to communicate freely with people who do not speak English.

Specific skills:

  • Ability to effectively conduct meetings especially related to analysis of problems reported by customers
  • Knowledge of the problem-solving methodologies 8D (8 Disciplines), 5xwhy, PDCA and others required by the customer
  • Knowledge of the quality tools preferred by the automotive industry (according to AIAG manuals; FMEA, CP (Control Plan), MSA (Measurement System Analysis), SPC (Statistical Process Control), APQP/PPAP)
  • Knowledge of the basic of the manufacturing processes carried out in Northvolt allowing for unconstrained analysis of the quality problems and quality assessment of these processes and products.
  • Basic knowledge of electronic
  • Proven knowledge of the ISO9001:2015 standard
  • Proven knowledge of the ISO14001:2015 standard

About the company

Northvolt is a European supplier of sustainable, high-quality battery cells and systems. Alongside Northvolt Ett, Northvolt is also establishing a manufacturing site for battery systems in Gdansk, Poland. This facility, Northvolt Battery Systems Jeden, will industrialize and produce world leading battery systems in order to meet the increased demand for complete battery solutions on the European market. The factory is a highly automated, state-of-the-art production facility for battery modules and energy storage solutions.

We are currently in an exciting fast-growing phase and operate in a dynamic environment, dealing with a wide range of stakeholders. We are staffing our international office in Stockholm, our R&D facility, Northvolt Labs in Västerås, as well as Northvolt Battery Systems Jeden, in Gdansk, for production of battery systems.
