Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated and driven Risk Engineer to join us in our mission to contribute to a greener future. The role is a part of our excellent team based in Skelleftea. By joining us, you will contribute to building one of the first large scale European battery factories.

About the team:

As the Risk Analyst/Engineer, you will take ownership of the risk management for different projects and support the team producing Quantitative Risk Analysis.

We are looking for a Risk Analyst/Engineer with strong quantitative skills to apply quantitative risk analysis techniques to the risk and opportunity portfolio of a large scale industrial program with Northvolt Factory Programs You will be part of the Program Management Office and will work under the supervision of the PMO Risk Manager, and interact with the other members of the Program Management in order to define probability rules for each key risk and opportunity, and perform a statistical evaluation of the risk profile (Monte Carlo simulation).

As Risk Analyst/Engineer will also cover steering and administering the risk registers, facilitating risk meetings and workshops, and ensuring proper management and close out of all project risks both within the Program and its main contractor, as well as Business Risks internally up through the organization. You will be tracking and progressing the risk process within the Northvolt New Factories by the risk owners, ensuring timely follow up of risk mitigations, and supporting the ongoing update and management of the risk profile.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Perform quantitative risk analysis for cost and schedule impact
  • Drive the risk management processes within the project and delivery teams
  • Facilitating the risk meetings and administering the associated registers
  • Interfacing with the contractors/supplier’s risk processes
  • Ensure that risk decisions and mitigations are fully communicated to the owners & management team
  • Developing/managing the digitilisation (power BI) of risk registers
  • Driving risk based thinking in the projects, embedding the project risk process
  • Coordinate the systematic management of risk through the risk owners in the delivery teams
  • Jointly facilitating monthly risk reviews with the delivery teams
  • Preparing risk and mitigation inputs for NV Program and Funding requirements
  • Preparing Quantitative Risk Analysis for cost and schedule

Skills & Requirements

  • Qualifications/education/experience *A bachelor degree or above in relevant engineering fields
  • 3 years work of relevant work experience
  • Fluency in written and spoken English
  • Technical background or an interest in technical industries.
  • Excel and database skills, power BI an advantage
  • Experience of risk management processes is credited but not essential
  • Technical or project controls skillset is a plus.
  • Project Engineering skillset is considered of use in this role.

  • Experience with Monte Carlo Simulations is meriting but not required

Bonus points for:

  • Experience and interest in manufacturing industry
  • Fluency in other languages (Japanese, Swedish, Chinese, French)
  • Experience from a multi-cultural environment
