For our Electrical Features team, within the Blade Submodules and Technology Department, we are looking for a highly skilled Blade Features Engineer. The Blade Submodules and Technology Department works on cutting edge technology in an international environment. The job will expose the engineer to a wide range of tasks allowing personal and technical growth and achieving a deep understanding of wind turbine blades.

How to contribute to our vision

As a Blade Features Engineer, you are responsible for driving design and development of blade electrical features, in particular the lightning protection system. Typical tasks include planning, technical design, conceptualization, simulation, testing and technical risk management. You will give support across the value chain, from procurement and supplier qualification to production implementation, product and fleet quality management and customer communication.

• Perform electric calculations and simulations of Lightning Protection technologies and electrical components

• Lead the electrical validation campaigns of blades lightning protection systems, including tests for product and component certification

• Develop new blade lightning protection systems, components and electrical sensors with a focus on manufacturability and quality

• Lead innovation and conceptualize how new technologies can strengthen the blade features area

• Work with a value chain approach to optimize the product in collaboration with different interfaces

• Establish a clear understanding of design drivers and have a structured approach to expand the boundaries

• Manage projects with internal and external stakeholders and secure good and close communication

• Be a bridge between the Blade Technology department and the organization

What You Need To Make a Difference

A passion for renewable energy and a sense for the importance to lead the change. We are also looking for…

• A Masters or PhD degree in Electrical, Aerospace, Physics Engineering or Wind Energy

• You understand mechanical and electrical concepts.

• You can bridge between purely electrical topics and structural risks

• You can drive your own tasks actively at a high standard

• You have an outreaching personality

• Engaging with stakeholders in different parts of the organization energizes you

• Excellent English skills both orally and in writing are a must in the international team, and it is of highest importance that you can communicate your results in a clear and convincing manner. Portuguese skills are seen as a plus.

• Furthermore, you have a structured approach to your work, can handle multiple assignments simultaneously without losing overview and you are driving your work independently.
