Job Description

Northvolt has an exciting job offer for a Project Logistics Developer to join our excellent and passionate team, based in Gdansk. In joining us you will play an important part from the very start, building the network of European and North American Lithium-Ion battery giga-factories. Northvolt will play a significant role in the transformation to a carbon free society.

The Project Logistics Developer's primary focus will be to design, implement, execute and develop transport solutions for heavy process equipment during the construction phases of Northvolt's projects over multiple locations. QHSSE is in your DNA and you walk the talk every day, leading by example to ensure the development of safe practices.

We:

In broad terms, Project Logistics is responsible to secure end to end logistical solutions for process equipment, from vendor to installation with the highest focus on QHSSE, Schedule & Budget.

You:

Generally speaking, you have a high degree of experience within logistical operations, specifically in an industrial projects setting. You are absolutely excellent in multi-tasking and prioritizing. You understand the importance of structure and communication, especially across cultures and time zones, as means to ensure clarity and reach common goals within specific time frames. You have a good feel for people and you know how to, together with them, celebrate good times, as well as pull through dire straits.

The role will be based at Northvolt’s Gdansk facility with regular travels to Stockholm, and Northvolt's production facilities in Europe and North America.

Together with the wider Northvolt Project Logistics Team you will:

  • Design, execute and optimize intercontinental transportation of cargo across multiple transport modes,
  • Ensure QHSSE development, implementation, measurement, analysis and optimisation and foster QHSSE culture,
  • Procure, contract and implement LSP agreements. Measure manage and optimize supplier performance,
  • Ensure forecasting and plan solutions accordingly,
  • Support the co-ordination of schedule and shipment planning and reporting between internal Northvolt departments, the equipment vendors and the LSP,
  • Lead the development and enhancement of operational procedures,
  • Participate in structured and unstructured communication to ensure clarity around next steps and ultimate goals,
  • Continuously improve overall project logistics operations.

Skills & Requirements

Requirements:

  • Fluency in English
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Logistics or related field
  • Min. 5 years of experience within Project Logistics
  • Detailed knowledge and experience of OOG cargo handling operations, across multiple modes and solutions
  • Experience in drafting, running or responding to freight tenders, and negotiations, aswell as a strong commercial understanding spanning legal, contracting and insurance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, experience in handling databases and TMS,
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to maintain workflow while switching quickly between tasks, cultures and time-zones,
  • Problem-solving, entrepreneurial attitude thriving in a dynamic environment where no day is like the other
  • Self-motivated and finding it easy to establish new relationships,
  • Worked in multi-cultural environment
