Northvolt has an exciting job offer for a Network Engineer to join our passionate team in Skellefteå. In joining us you will play an important part in one of the first large scale European batteryfactories.

Northvolt will play an important role in the transformation to a carbon free society.

As a Network Engineer you will get the opportunity to work with some of the world’s most advanced machine IoT networks in the field of industrial networking, as well as state of the art enterprise networking, datacenter & cloud networking. This is a unique opportunity to work with networking solutions that integrate across these multiple domains and will evolve towards full automation ("network as code") of the network infrastructure.

You will be part of the local Network team reporting to the local Site manager.

Your main responsibilities will be to work with our daily operations of the network and extensions of factory networks such as datacenters, public clouds, and office networks.

In this role you will collaborate with your peers both locally at site and with colleagues in the global network team to ensure that the network is reliable and stable supporting our factories 24/7.

Continuous improvement of the network infrastructure is also an important part of your daily challenges.

On call work outside office hours will be part of your role.

Other responsibilities included but are not limited to:

• Support project implementation from requirements gathering/reviewing designs, to building and deploying our networking infrastructure.
• Plan and support management of the network and its services.
• Coordinate vendors involved in implementing, and supporting our networks.

Skills & Requirements

We believe that you have :

• At least Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent experience.
• Certified in CCNA or any equivalent certificate in network industry.
• Experience in incident and change management principles and best practices.
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in networking.
• Knowledge of network technology disciplines (e.g. IP Routing and Switching, Routing Protocols, WAN, Firewall, Packet Analysis, Infrastructure, Capacity Planning, IT Tools and other relevant technologies).
• Familiar with Industrial Ethernet or any deterministic Ethernet protocols.
• Basic knowledge of AWS/Azure Cloud networks.
• Basic knowledge of GIT, Terraform and Python.
• Experience with wireless networks, preferably Cisco wireless.
• Knowledge of network hardware and software technologies and best practice.
• Basic knowledge about network firewalls, preferably PaloAlto.
• Basic knowledge working with Atlassian products ie Jira/Confluence.

Bonus points for:

• Experience in large scale network monitoring, automation, and testing.
• Familiarity with Cisco Intent Based Networking.
• Hands-on experience with with Cisco IOS, IOS-XE and NXOS.
• Adequate knowledge about Software defined networking SDN, preferably Cisco ACI.
• Experience with Cisco Hyperconverged solution.
• Familiar with Spine and Leaf network topology.
• Hands-on experience with Cisco ISE, Cisco ASA and Firepower, Palo Alto Firewalls and Panorama.
