High Voltage Laboratory Supervisor – Power Transformers

Siemens Energy is seeking a highly skilled High Voltage Laboratory Supervisor to lead testing operations within our Power Transformers Laboratory. Reporting to the Head of the Laboratory, this role oversees high‑voltage electrical testing activities, ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, and compliance. You will lead a team of technicians, collaborate closely with customers and cross‑functional partners, and drive continuous improvement across testing processes and capabilities.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Lead and supervise a test team up to 5 employees executing power transformer test plans in compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.
  • Plan, assign, and monitor work to ensure efficient execution and on‑time delivery.
  • Champion a strong safety culture by enforcing procedures, identifying risks, and implementing mitigation measures.
  • Ensure team qualifications, competency development, and technical readiness.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve test procedures, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Oversee test setups, equipment configuration, troubleshooting, maintenance, and calibration.
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, quality, and project teams to resolve test issues and support root cause analysis.
  • Manage test documentation, reports, and data analysis to support certification and quality assurance.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Contribute to budget planning and cross‑functional technology development efforts.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field with 8+ years of experience in high‑voltage testing, preferably within power transformer manufacturing or related industries.
  • Proven leadership experience leading or managing technical or test teams.
  • Strong knowledge of transformer test standards, quality systems, and safety practices.
  • Hands‑on experience with test equipment, data acquisition systems, and IT tools.
  • Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Strong safety mindset and willingness to work flexible shift schedules for the first few months then transition to second shift. 
  • Proficiency in English (written and verbal).
  • If not already located in Charlotte, NC, the selected candidate must be willing to relocate (relocation assistance provided)
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current employer-sponsored work authorization. Those candidates with current US work authorization could be considered for a transfer.
