About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and technically proficient Lead DevOps Engineer to join our Deployment Platform team, based in either Brande or Skovlunde, Denmark. Our team is at the forefront of driving innovation in hybrid platforms for containerization, and we are looking for a technical leader who can guide our talented engineers while ensuring effective collaboration with architects, customers, and outsourcing partners. This role focuses on technical leadership through examples and best practices, with people management being the responsibility of the team lead.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the technical development and implementation of containerization platforms, ensuring best practices in Docker, Kubernetes, and other relevant technologies.

  • Collaborate closely with architects, internal teams, and outsourcing partners to deliver high-quality, scalable software solutions.

  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the Deployment Platform team, primarily by setting strong examples and promoting best practices.

  • Demonstrate leadership through hands-on involvement, showcasing excellent coding practices, problem-solving, and architectural decisions.

  • Drive technical discussions, decisions, and architecture design with a focus on performance, reliability, and scalability.

  • Ensure clear and effective communication across internal teams and with outsourcing partners, both written and oral, in English.

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes and tools.

  • Utilize automation technologies such as Ansible to streamline deployment processes.

  • Apply programming skills in Python for developing and maintaining automation scripts and tools.

  • Work with both Linux and Windows server environment.

  • Manage and optimize virtualized environments using hypervisors such as VMware or similar technologies.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in containerization technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes.

  • Strong technical leadership skills, with a focus on leading by example and promoting best practices in development.

  • Skills in automation technologies, such as Ansible, to enhance deployment processes.

  • Proficiency in programming languages, particularly Python, for developing and maintaining automation tools.

  • Experience with managing and optimizing virtualized environments using hypervisors like VMware or similar.

  • Experience with both Linux and Windows server environments.

  • High proficiency in English, both written and oral.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage with developers, architects, internal teams, customers, and outsourcing partners.

  • A collaborative spirit and the ability to navigate complex technical challenges.

  • Experience working in a fast-paced, highly skilled development environment.

Additional Information:

  • This is a full-time position based in either Brande, Denmark or Skovlunde, Denmark.

  • Occasional travel to other Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy locations worldwide may be required (a few days per year).
