Marketing & Sales Support Engineer

A Snapshot of Your Day

You are the central link between the Sales, Proposals and Factory teams, supporting clear communication and alignment among stakeholders

You start your day, participating to the Europe & Asia Small Steam Turbines Sales meeting, to update the Order Entry forecast and determine the priorities for the required support from the factory. Then you work on updating the quotation tools to integrate the last improvements from the Project Management, Engineering, Purchasing or Assembly and Test teams.

In the afternoon, you contact a Sales Manager in USA to provide him with the optimised technical proposal that results in the lead-time / cost that will make him successful on his turbine opportunity. Finally, you participate together with the Execution team to the handover meeting of the last turbines booked to bring all the clarifications based on your knowledge of the pre-project phase and ensure a smooth transition from Sales to Execution.

In parallel you may have prepared your next business trip as you have identified together with the Sales team an opportunity to present the last factory capabilities and innovations to bring a new customer onboard!

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Answering the Sales and Application Engineering team requests regarding technical, cost optimization, lead-time aspects, coordinating inputs from multiple stakeholders, and delivering the answer on time for the project need
• Ensuring the accuracy of the information in the quotation tools to be in line with return on experience of executed projects and the last improvement project updates
• Representing the factory in the meeting with Sales and Customers worldwide, when support from the Execution is needed
• Giving visibility to the Factory team regarding the incoming order forecast and associated load
• Bringing early insights from feasibility and quotation activities to strengthen preparation before the execution phase
• Facilitating the handover meeting for a smooth transition between the Sales team and Execution team
• Providing recommendations on the R&D program getting the visibility from the market through the interaction with Sales, and the technical/manufacturing aspects form Execution

What You Bring

• Engineer or master’s degree in mechanical engineering or similar engineering degree, with a solid technical background in turbomachinery, preferably steam turbines
• Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
• Ability to work on various projects and topics in parallel, coordinating multiple internal/external stakeholders at all levels of the organization, in a fast-paced competitive market
• Proficiency in French and English languages, further language skills are a plus
• Knowledge of SAP is a plus
• Willingness to travel in France or internationally (10% to 20%)
