Job Description

Northvolt has an exciting job possibility for an Engineer in the field of Mechanical Engineering. You will be contributing in your area from the very start in building one of the first large scale European battery factories in Skellefteå, Sweden, which will play an important role in the transformation to a carbon free society.

• Work with suppliers and internal stakeholders in the design, prototyping and implementation of material flow equipment tools and improvements. • Work actively to identify interfaces with process equipment and develop risk-mitigating solutions. • Create the basic operational standards required to hand-over the engineering project to the manufacturing team. • Design , control and maintain 2D and 3D documentation connected to improvement parts and existing equipment. • Identify and interact with key solution suppliers in a international setting. • Ensure suppliers understand and adhere to Northvolt’s technical standards.

Skills & Requirements

Key requirements:

• Master of science or higher degree in mechanical, industrial or electrical engineering or equivalent. • Industrial experience in demanding industrial environments. • Must have worked in multi-cultural environmen. • Excellent English written and oral skills. • Hands-on experience in 3D CAD (preferable Siemens NX) is required. • Experience in FEM simulation is an advantage. • Ability to work under high pressure and tight deadlines. • Excellent analytical skills, especially in the field of design for safety, production and serviceability. • Excellent time management skills. • Experience in plastic parts, injection molding and various mechanical joining methods. • Experience in Geometric dimensioning and Tolerancing. • Passionate by solving complex problems with technology in a simple yet innovative way.
