Job Description

We are searching for a highly experienced and motivated Project Engineer for Major Capital Project in Germany to join our team for a major capital project in Northern Germany. As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing various aspects of the project's engineering activities, ensuring technical excellence, adherence to standards, and successful project delivery. Your expertise will be instrumental in coordinating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to achieve project objectives efficiently and with the highest quality standards.

You will be part of the Project Engineering team that will drive the construction of our new battery factory in Heide, Germany. Built in multiple phases over 5+ years the factory represents a multi-billion Euro investment project. Together with your colleagues from the Program team you will be accountable to lead project engineers and major capital projects to deliver on company targets and in line with customer expectations.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, and other engineering disciplines to develop detailed project plans and technical specifications.
  • Oversee the execution of engineering design, ensuring compliance with local regulations and project requirements.
  • Manage and coordinate engineering activities, including design reviews, evaluations, constructability reviews, and approvals.
  • Evaluate and recommend engineering solutions to complex technical challenges, promoting innovation and efficiency.
  • Monitor and control engineering progress, identifying potential issues, and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
  • Collaborate with procurement teams to ensure timely sourcing of materials and equipment that meet project specifications.
  • Participate in construction and commissioning activities, providing technical support and troubleshooting assistance.
  • This position will be located at the site construction location in Heide, Northern Germany and may involve periodic travel to engineering and other service and equipment providers to assess progress, adherence to engineering drawings, and quality standards.
  • Support the preparation of technical reports, engineering documentation, and project-related presentations.

  • Facilitate effective communication and coordination between internal engineering teams and external consultants.

Skills & Requirements

We believe that you have :

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or related field).
  • Proven experience as a Project Engineer in major capital projects within the German construction industry.
  • Strong technical knowledge and proficiency in relevant engineering principles, standards, and codes.
  • Familiarity with local building regulations and permitting processes in Germany.
  • Proficiency in engineering software and design tools commonly used in the industry.
  • Detail-oriented approach and commitment to ensuring high-quality engineering deliverables.
  • Fluency in both written and spoken English and German.
