Vestas Technology & Operations > Procurement NCE > Transport Procurement NCE We are a diverse and innovative team of focused purchasing colleagues covering Vestas' NCE region (Northern Europe & Central Europe).  We enable our construction business to deliver projects safely, on time, in budget, with the right quality by improving supplier selection for critical spend categories e.g., Transport, Cranes, Installation teams, Balance of Plant (BOP) and other services related to the windfarm construction.  As part of the team, you will be responsible for negotiating and handling high value spend for construction projects in the region for specific categories.  We are pragmatic, fast, respectful, and never lose track of the big picture.  

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate Negotiations and Tenders for Transport in the NCE region for Wind farm projects (Port handling, Trucking, barging and possibly short sea vessels for the wind turbine main components)
• Responsible for developing and executing Procurement strategy for Transport commodities. Supporting definition of requirements / Sourcing / RFQ / Selection / Contracting
• Maintain fruitful relationships with a diverse set of stakeholders: Sales teams, Construction & Transport Project Managers and Supply Chain
• Identify and implement opportunities to improve our Safety and Quality performance, reduce the CPQ and streamline processes
• Manage contracting process to ensure that Vestas interests are properly represented
• Accountable for performance results for the suppliers in charge, participate in the supplier performance review meetings
• Follow Vestas processes, policies & tools and code of conduct in daily work

Qualifications

• Academic degree in engineering or business studies
• Some years' work experience in Purchasing or another position requiring professional coordination and business skills
• Proven history of handling high value spends (annual 15 million Euro plus)

Competencies

• Advanced numerical and analytical skills 
• Well-developed interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, especially working with senior management
• Positive and solution-oriented problem solver, able to work in a cross-cultural environment
• Working knowledge and understanding of the Transport contracts or various Construction services contracts would be beneficial
• Advantageous would be experience with the project cargo management and negotiations (land or sea)
• Ability to prioritize tasks, make quick decisions and work in a dynamic environment
• Fluent English is essential, we prefer knowledge of German or one of the Scandinavian languages
