Sales, Germany South & East is part of Vestas Northern and Central Europe, a Sales Business Unit of Vestas Wind Systems A/S, the world's largest manufacturer of wind turbines. The Associate Sales Manager role is anchored in the sales department but works across multiple functions in an international environment to deliver on Vestas "profitable growth" strategy. We are responsible for selling high-value and complex renewable energy projects in a department with a flexible and open work environment.

The Associate Sales Manager combines the Commercial Engineer and Sales Manager roles to transition to being a full Sales Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Portfolio of smaller to medium-sized customers, covering the entire sales cycle: prospects identification, tendering, deal optimization, to negotiation and closure of wind farm supply contracts
  • Establish solid customer relationships with our key customers, building trust and understanding the customers ́ business case to develop effective value propositions
  • Ensure efficient cross-functional collaboration, managing and coordinating activities and deliverables within the Deal Team and other internal and external stakeholders
  • Collect and analyse project cost estimates, configure the project builder in Vestas ERP systems (SAP project builder and other proprietary configuration tools), and prepare project cost pre-calculations / budgets based on customer requirements.
  • Prepare sales business case and navigate it through internal governance
  • Support the client throughout the permitting phase with documentation, indicative quotes and any technical questions
  • Prepare invoicing to customers when order is received and are responsible for preparing the hand-over material of the sales project to the Vestas construction team and arranging lessons learned meetings

Qualifications

  • Degree in engineering, business, economics or similar
  • Work experience in matrix organizations and complex project environments
  • Organizational and influence skills with the ability to project oversee sales team work in a matrix organisation
  • Advanced IT skills with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint knowledge. Ideal candidates have experience with Salesforce, SAP project builder, Primavera, JIRA, and SmartSheet)
  • Ability to identify and involve business stakeholders
  • Building partnerships with existing and new customers that reach beyond transactional purchasing
  • Fluency in written and verbal German and English
