We are looking for a passionate Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join us in our mission to contribute to a greener future. You will be part of our passionate and excellent and bold Battery Systems team in Gdansk and supporting other sites across Europe.

About the team

We are continuously building our team of both experienced engineers and great leaders with engineering background. The Manufacturing Equipment Engineers are experts in the delivery of production solutions which includes deep knowledge in battery systems production process’, automation equipment development, equipment integrator management, equipment validation methods, equipment installation, and new product industrialization. You will play an important role to interface with equipment suppliers and to collaborate with other Northvolt manufacturing engineering teams and production functions to efficiently deliver manufacturing solutions.

Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Delivery of manual, semi-automatic and automated production assembly lines & machines, from RFQ to machine validation
  • Modification of existing equipment to problem solve production issues related to equipment design
  • On going technical Interface with equipment suppliers for in specification and timely deliveries
  • Developing and reviewing project planning documents such as project timelines, Requests for Quotations, FMEA’s and Safety Risk Assessments, PM schedules, etc.

Skills & Requirements

We believe that you have:

  • BSc or MSc degree in Mechanical / Manufacturing Engineering
  • 7+ years of relevant work experience with new production equipment project delivery
  • Experience with manufacturing problem solving methodologies, such as Lean Six Sigma, DMAIC, 8D
  • Experience with risk analysis in tools and techniques, such FMEA and QA troubleshooting tools
  • Excellent English written and oral skill
  • Able to travel with periods of up to >50% of working time depending on project needs
  • Team-player
  • Self-disciplined and able to prioritize tasks

The factory is a highly automated, state-of-the-art production facility for battery modules and energy storage solutions.

We are currently in an exciting fast-growing phase and operate in a dynamic environment, dealing with a wide range of stakeholders. We are staffing our international office in Stockholm, our R&D facility, Northvolt Labs in Västerås, as well as Northvolt Battery Systems Jeden, in Gdansk, for production of battery systems. We are also preparing for upcoming positions at the main factory, Northvolt Ett, in Skellefteå.
