Job Description

We are looking for a passionate purchasing talent to join us as Supplier Industrialization Manager in our mission to contribute to a greener future. You will be part of our passionate and excellent Systems Supply Chain team working in office placed in Gdańsk. By joining us, you will be a key player in establishing and contribute to building one of the first large scale European battery factories.

Job scope

The Supplier Industrialization role is a key function to launch new products and work externally towards the supplier, leading all internal activities from signed contract to start of production to ensure a successful launch of a product in high volume production or of high complexity.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provide leadership for New Product Introduction (NPI) at Suppliers
  • Lead supplier improvements in scalability, optimization and cost
  • Facilitate communication and clarification of technical requirements between Suppliers, Purchasing, Quality, and Design teams
  • Collaborate with Design, Quality, Category and Manufacturing to determine the ideal performance specifications and supplier metrics
  • Accountable for leading, tracking and improving supplier manufacturing process development and launch readiness for new products and design changes
  • Validate supplier corrective actions involving design and/or process changes to ensure they are robust, sustainable, and implemented for similar potential
  • concerns across manufacturing lines and/or supplier
  • Provide input on new or alternative materials for improved design, manufacturability, or cost reduction

Skills & Requirements

We believe that you have:

  • Master’s degree in Engineering or Supply Chain field, or Electromechanical, Mechanical, and BMS
  • Minimum 10 years work experience
  • Continuously develop and improve ways of working
  • Stakeholder Management and strong communication skills
  • Understanding of scaling operations in a fast-growing environment in an industrial setting
  • Ability to travel frequently

Specific skills :

  • Fluent in English, having worked in an international setting

About the company

Northvolt is a European supplier of sustainable, high-quality battery cells and systems. Northvolt Ett is a next generation battery cell factory focused on process innovation, scale and vertical integration. Once completed, the gigafactory will be one of the largest battery cell factory in Europe and produce at least 32 GWh of capacity annually.

Alongside Northvolt Ett, Northvolt is also establishing a manufacturing site for battery systems in Gdansk, Poland. This facility, Northvolt Battery Systems Jeden, will industrialize and produce world leading battery systems in order to meet the increased demand for complete battery solutions on the European market. The factory is a highly automated, state-of-the-art production facility for battery modules and energy storage solutions.

We are currently in an exciting fast-growing phase and operate in a dynamic environment, dealing with a wide range of stakeholders. We are staffing our international office in Stockholm, our R&D facility, Northvolt Labs in Västerås, as well as Northvolt Battery Systems Jeden, in Gdansk, for production of battery systems. We are also preparing for upcoming positions at the main factory, Northvolt Ett, in Skellefteå.
