We are looking for a Production Engineer to join Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy in our Joint Operations Centre (JOC). As Production Engineer you will be responsible for investigating technical issues for operations at site as well as improvement of turbine performance. The role will involve both technical and nontechnical activities. Customer management will play an integral part of the day-to-day role, so leadership and communication skills are vital.

You will set objectives and deliver agreed results that have influence on increasing the turbine availability and production. This may include explaining technical facts, analysing data, and recommending best practices to senior technicians and other site related staff.

This role will require flexibility to work 5 days a week with visits to our offshore service site bases on a regular basis to meet with site teams and customers.

Some of your key tasks will include but not be limited to:

  • Active safety leadership within the team - ensure correct reporting of incidents and accidents, near misses and unsafe acts and conditions.

  • Support execution of the contract(s) within site to the agreed financial performance requirements, not compromising safe or responsible working.

  • Maintain and develop good working relationships with customer organization(s) and escalate issues to the site management when appropriate.

  • Identify causes of lost production and assist in creating site action plans to improve yield.

  • Technically coach and develop the on site Senior Technician team.

  • Act as technical lead for the management / delivery of technical queries with Service Technology via Salesforce, acting as first line onsite support for customer engineering issues.

  • Analyze technical performance metrics, such as First Time Fix to provide improvement focus areas.

  • Assist in the production and publication of accurate site reports for both internal and external customers.

  • Implement improvement projects and share best practice, standardize working practices based on best practice, lessons learned and lead DMAIC (Define-Measure-Analyze-Improve-Control)/8D reports/investigations.

  • Travel to various SGRE sites monthly, Offshore visits and understanding of site-specific contractual obligations to ensure compliance.

What you need to make a difference

A passion for renewable energy and a sense for the importance to lead the change. We are also looking for:

  • Someone with extended experience in the wind industry, in a senior technician or engineering capacity.

  • Individual with strong organizational skills, customer focused and experienced in customer facing role with technical/service background.

  • Analytic mind with good data analysis skills, comprehensive and accurate reporting.

  • Ability and willingness to travel monthly, with some international travel required.
