How to contribute to our vision

We are currently building an entire new Offshore Heavy Lift Technician team, operating from Poland. Do you have either have an electronic or mechanical background and have you always dreamed about making a transition into the Offshore Wind Industry? Then this might be the perfect opportunity for you to join Siemens Gamesa!

Your job responsibilities include, but will not be limited to:

  • To carry out technical duties (Mechanical/Electrical) on Wind Turbine Generators to the highest of Quality Standards.
  • You will provide technical instruction and guidance to peers and less experienced members of our Heavy Lift Service team.
  • By working on daily objectives and delivering results that have a direct impact to the Wind Turbine.
  • At all times, you will ensure compliance with Siemens Gamesa standards and local legislation in relation to Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS), you will ensure these standards are improved as an individual and as a group, through active participation and engagement with SGRE EHS processes.
  • To ensure that all parts and tools are adequately stored and in good condition when used and any certification/inspection/calibration on tooling is managed to minimize disruption to the project.
  • You will take an active role in supporting all Service/Warranty activities that require use of a large crane (Jack Up), (Inc. defective major component parts removal and replacement) &/or participate in designated warranty campaigns.
  • To participate in on call arrangements, please note that flexibility is a must.

As a person, you are proactive, well-structured and enjoy helping others. You are a person that sees opportunities rather than limitations. We are looking for technicians that want to be upskilled and improve their abilities within the offshore industry. People who thrive in an international environment with colleagues from around the world. 

In addition, we are also looking for:

  • Electrical and/or Mechanical knowledge, including hydraulics, rotating parts and control systems and qualifications i.e. NVQ or City and Guilds (or equivalent).
  • Previous experience of working in major component exchanges would be advantageous. We gladly welcome dedicated young technicians who are at the beginning of their journey that would like to transition into the wind industry. So full training will be provided for the right candidate without experience.
  • Fluency in English, both written and verbally.
  • Willingness to travel, you will be utilized all over the globe on rotation.
  • Ability to work with processes and procedures.
  • Ability to work as a team, experience of working within mixed cultures is helpful.
  • Strong organizational skills and communication skills. You can communicate with other technicians and support personnel.
  • Excellent customer service skills, ability to maintain good client relationships across multiple sites with different customer expectations.
  • An overall positive attitude and willingness to learn everything there is about the Offshore industry and Heavy Lift in particular.
