How to contribute to our vision

For our System Level Control department, a part of the Technology Business Unit, we are looking for a highly talented and motivated engineer to contribute to the development of new products and new technologies. The System Level Control department is staffed with highly skilled engineers, located in several places around the world, within turbine functional engineering. The department is responsible for delivering functional systems and feature solutions on system level, from requirement specification to the final product validation.

Responsibilities:

As a System Engineer your primary tasks will include:

  • Acting as system level engineer for turbine control features
  • Aligning with customers (e.g. platform owner, system owners etc.) and other stakeholders to gain acceptance of requirements, interfaces, and process flows
  • Creating requirements that are measurable with clear success criteria defined
  • Ensuring all relevant interface owners are included as stakeholders
  • System engineering in collaboration with safety and controller system owners
  • Integration of sensors and actuators in the turbine control system
  • Contributing to the development of new wind turbine control and monitoring functions
  • Actuator and sensor model development and analysis
  • Computational and experimental performance analysis of wind turbines
  • Interfacing with software group to implement design solutions
  • Planning and performing validation studies to compare computational analysis with measurement data
  • Contributing to technical projects in a self-managed and target oriented manner

What you need to make a difference

Passion for renewable energy and a sense for the importance to lead the change. We are also looking for…

  • Required English level- C1-C2
  • MS or Ph.D. degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or related engineering field
  • Programming experience in MATLAB, FORTRAN, C/C++, or similar
  • Experience handling and performing engineering analysis on large data sets
  • Experience in measurement techniques and data analysis, including time-series and spectral analysis
  • Strong desire and ability to solve difficult technical challenges through innovation, dedication, and cooperation with a global team
  • Strong analytical skills, self-motivation, and ability to solve challenges through innovation, dedication, and cooperation with a global team
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

System Engineering Project Managers are desired to possess the following:

  • Experience with product development processes
  • Experience modeling physical systems with Simscape, Modelica, or similar
  • Knowledge of wind turbine design and certification
  • Knowledge of wind turbine controls, loads, structures, aeroelasticity, and supporting analysis tools
