Job Description

We are seeking a Malawi-based individual or organisation with a social-compliance background to join our Client Services team on a freelance, part-time basis. You will help us service a diverse portfolio of clients and their suppliers in Malawi, using technology to advance workers’ rights and supplier engagement.

Responsibilities:
  • Deploy digital worker-voice programmes in Malawi (remotely and on-site)
  • Train supplier management on platform use and secure buy-in
  • Promote worker participation and manage grievance cases
  • Investigate and support remediation when requested by brands
  • Update onboarding materials and maintain supplier communication
  • Collaborate with global Client Services and Deployment teams
  • Gather feedback to improve the platform
Evening availability for calls with Canada/Europe is required; national travel may occasionally be needed.

Qualifications

Required:
  • 5+ years’ experience in global supply-chain social/labour impact projects
  • Background in social compliance, labour rights, ethical procurement or related field
  • Fluency in English and Chichewa (additional languages an asset)
  • Strong client-service mindset, organised and accountable
  • Based in Malawi
Preferred:
  • Knowledge of labour and human-rights issues in supply chains
  • Experience with CSR programmes, community relations or grievance mechanisms
  • Comfort introducing new technology and training others
  • Familiarity with auditing standards (BSCI, ETI, SA8000), SEDEX, etc.
