The Role As an Autonomy Flight Operations Intern you’ll be flying a variety of different aircraft with custom sensor payloads to collect data that is representative of our intended operational areas. You’ll be out in the world, applying your intuition and piloting abilities to get high quality, representative sample scenarios for our algorithms teams to build and test against. What You'll Do   Apply intuition to identify challenging real world environments to fully train and test our systems to work safely and efficiently Work with engineers and technicians to run tests and validate prototype systems and hardware Inspect and maintain aircraft and sensor clusters Review videos and other data to ensure the system is working properly What You'll Bring  Working towards a degree in Uncrewed Systems Technology or other UAV related fields 100+ hours of experience flying large multirotor aircraft  (DJI experience a plus) Current Part 107 rating and a good understanding of operating under Part 107 rules Familiarity with common debugging techniques and baseline technical knowledge Ability to lift 50 pounds or more on a regular basis.  A desire to work in a hands-on environment and out in the field Experience with Linux systems a plus What Else You Need to Know    Our internships are full-time positions, in-person at our South San Francisco office. We will host our Fall 2024 interns from September to December.  The starting cash range for this role is $28 - $32 / hour. Please note that this is a target, starting cash range for a candidate who meets the minimum qualifications for this role. The final cash pay for this role will depend on a variety of factors, including a specific candidate's experience, qualifications, skills, and working location. The total compensation package for this role may also include: overtime pay; commuter benefits; paid sick time; and more.
