Power Solutions > Applications, Controls & Electrical > Control Hardware Vestas Power Solutions (VPS) is where new product ideas are developed, matured, improved, and tested. Within Vestas Power Solutions (VPS), you'll find our department, Module Tech Lead and Integration group, as part of Control Hardware. Our department is tasked with overseeing the comprehensive low-voltage electrical package. This encompasses the design and refinement of LV control panels, cables, electronics, and sensors utilized across various applications within wind turbines. As a key member of our team, you'll play an integral role in developing modular architectures in collaboration with technical management across internal and cross-functional modules. By contributing to the creation of smarter, more efficient, and robust wind turbines, you'll actively shape the future of renewable energy. Responsibilities Your responsibilities will include crafting modular design requirements and solutions through the application of system engineering techniques and simulations.

  • Assume full accountability for delivering the Low Voltage Electrical package from conceptualization to final product validation, adhering to Vestas' execution model. Function as the main point of contact, orchestrating the integration of technical solutions between different modules and product coordinators, and promoting synergy among technical leadership and the heads of submodule groups
  • Be instrumental in shaping the Level B and Level C plans of the module, while providing assistance to the Project Manager and the Submodule Technical Leaders. Offer technical expertise to submodule teams by identifying and mitigating risks and dependencies
  • Finalize Module Design requirements, Space claims, Interfaces, and oversee Change management. Develop and refine module-level Design descriptions, Verification plans and procedures, Risk assessments, and Cost overviews throughout the project's gate model phases
  • Take charge of technical issues, ensuring continuous follow-up on solutions and overseeing their implementation to maintain production efficiency within set limits
  • Provide support to manufacturing during prototype builds and promptly address design corrections and updates to facilitate smooth component transitions to 0-series production. Participate in Integration tests, component validations, and maintain close collaboration with the commissioning team
  • Cultivate and sustain relationships with stakeholders across the value chain, ensuring team motivation and stakeholder support
  • Facilitate the dissemination of lessons learned to incorporate potential improvements into the team/module
  • Identify, develop, and validate technical/process improvements as part of the continuous improvement process

Qualifications We are seeking an ideal candidate with the following qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s or master's degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related relevant studies
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of pertinent experience in Electrical Design and Project Execution (experience in the wind/energy industry, particularly with Wind Turbine Generators is beneficial)
  • Proficient in Control panel design and adept in Low-Voltage component and system testing
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience with tools such as DFMEA, Creo View, and Windchill (knowledge of ETAP is beneficial)
  • Experienced in handling Engineering Change Management (ECM) processes throughout the product life cycle
  • Familiarity with International standards including IEC, UL, with a preference for IEC 60204-1 Machine directive
  • Basic understanding of EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility) design and testing requirements
  • Solid background in the entire product development journey, including a comprehensive grasp of design principles and life cycle management techniques
