(Senior) Legal Counsel

Become part of a global team of experienced Legal Counsels and Contract Managers shaping the energy landscape of the future! You will actively support the manifold activities coming along with the complex project business of the Business Area “Gas Services”. As a Senior Legal Counsel/Legal Counsel at Siemens Energy you will start your day collaborating with colleagues across Asia Pacific and internationally. You will review contracts and advise on large-scale project contracts, as well as on supply, service and procurement contracts in the field of power generation projects within the energy sector - both in the bidding and execution phase. You will resolve complex legal issues to help drive Asia Pacific’s energy transformation. Your work will span contract negotiations, risk management, and supporting innovation within the Gas Services Business Area. In addition, you will provide legal advice on corporate and regulatory matters. You’ll be the trusted advisor to business leaders, ensuring legal integrity while enabling progress towards a sustainable energy future.

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Be the trusted advisor to management and the business and manage legal matters/risks in relation to general commercial, trade and contract law in national and international business for Siemens Energy’s Gas Services Business in Asia Pacific.
• Analyze and comment on tenders, contracts and contract-related documents and give proactive advice and participate in contract negotiations and in the formulation/implementation of the negotiation strategy.
• Check compliance with internal guidelines and / or processes as well as external regulations.
• Support project execution and proactive claim management for projects in Asia Pacific. If required, you also engage and manage external law firms in dispute resolution proceedings.
• Contribute to standardization and digitalization of contracts and improvement processes and collaborate closely within the global LC community.
• Develop and provide training and educate key stakeholders.
• Provide legal advice on corporate and regulatory matters, including the preparation and support of Board- and Shareholder meetings and corporate filings.
• Advise directors and senior management on corporate governance best practices.
• Monitor changes in Thai laws and regulations affecting the business.

What You Bring 

• You have gained several years of professional experience in the legal department of an internationally operating company or a law firm, preferably in relation to international projects.
• Relevant professional experience with a proven track record of successfully managing legal risks in complex transactions, negotiating contracts, claim management as well as corporate and regulatory matters.
• Deep knowledge of contract law and international contract practice including civil & commercial transactional law, energy & infrastructure law, product safety and regulatory compliance, as well as Thai procurement law, with the ability to apply such knowledge pragmatically in complex national and international projects and the ability to lead contract negotiations and think strategically.
• You have profound knowledge and practical experience in the area of corporate- and company law.
• You are customer orientated, take initiative and have a passion to proactively master business challenges by thinking entrepreneurially and appropriately balancing risks and opportunities.
• You are able to handle multiple demands at the same time.
• You enjoy working in a team and in an international environment.
• You have the ability to partner with regional management and internal stakeholders.
• Excellent language skills in verbal and written English and Thai. Any additional Asian language (and other language skills) would be considered an asset.
