Site Installation Engineer

A Snapshot of Your Day

As a Site Installation Engineer (SIE) for Medium Gas Turbines New Unit, you work at customer sites mainly in the US or Canada and worldwide when required.

Operating in two-person teams, SIEs lead the customer crew by planning all installation activities for Siemens Energy gas-turbine scope: site logistics, daily scheduling, use of technical drawings, participation in customer meetings, manpower planning and EHS oversight for our equipment. You regularly report to and obtain technical support from the project team in Sweden.

A certified SIE training programme (partly in the US, partly in Sweden) qualifies you for the role.

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Be the face of the company on site with a positive, solution-oriented attitude.
• Maintain strong customer relations and keep construction on schedule together with customer and Siemens Energy teams.
• Acquire broad knowledge of different gas-turbine types and advance through new competence levels and roles.

What You Bring

• High-school diploma or GED (verifiable).
• 2+ years of new-unit construction or power-generation/oil-&-gas experience preferred.
• Previous gas-turbine knowledge, mechanical/electrical fieldwork and experience leading small teams are advantages, not mandatory.
• Willingness to travel for 10–12-week assignments (occasionally longer) in the USA/Canada and globally; roughly 250 field days per year.
