Wind Technician

As a Wind Technician at Siemens Gamesa you will service and maintain Siemens Energy wind turbines at the Garden/Fairbanks Wind Farm in Garden, Michigan, USA.

Your responsibilities:

• Enhance wind-farm operations by continuously improving daily workflows
• Maintain safety and efficiency, even in stressful or hazardous situations
• Perform physically demanding tasks: climb ladders and towers, prolonged standing and walking, lift, bend and twist, overhead work, push and pull, work with vibration, chemicals, confined spaces and in extreme weather
• Flexibly take on additional tasks to support wind-farm operations
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve shared goals

Your profile:

• High-school diploma or equivalent required; 2+ years of mechanical, electrical or hydraulic experience preferred; college degree or comparable qualification in electrical/mechanical systems advantageous
• Demonstrated safety and team focus; body weight ≤ 265 lb per safety regulations; must pass a medical exam
• Strong ability to plan and execute daily/weekly work independently with high quality standards
• Hands-on experience with electrical systems, ideally PLC programming and converters
• Willingness to travel (up to 15 %) within the district, to U.S. training facilities and other locations; valid passport and driver’s licence required
• Legally authorised to work in the United States without future employer-sponsored visa support
