Job Description

As a Network Engineer you will get the opportunity to work with some of the worlds most advanced machine IoT networks in the field of industrial networking, as well as state of the art enterprise networking, datacenter & cloud networking. This is a unique opportunity to work with networking solutions that integrate across these multiple domains and will evolve towards full automation ("network as code") of the network infrastructure.

In this role you will collaborate with your colleagues in the global network team to secure that the network is reliable and stable supporting our factories 24/7.

Your main responsibilities will be to work with our dailly operations of the network and extensions of factory networks such as datacenters, public clouds and office networks. You will act in our network operations center in Gdansk taking care of network incident and solving the same. Here you will also monitor our network to prevent issues occuring

On-call work will be part of your role.

You will also act as a system owner for some our our key infrastucture components

Skills & Requirements

• At least Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent experience
• Experience in incident and change management principles and best practices
• 2+ years of experience in networking

• Hands-on experience with some of the following: Cisco ISE, ASA and Firepower, Intent Based Networking, IOS, IOS-XE and NXOS, Software defined networking SDN, preferably Cisco ACI, Cisco Hyperconverged solution

• Knowledge of network technology disciplines (e.g. IP Routing and Switching, Routing Protocols, WAN, Firewall (ideally PaloAlto), Packet Analysis, Infrastructure, Capacity Planning, IT Tools and other relevant technologies),

• Familiar with Industrial Ethernet or any deterministic Ethernet protocols

• Experience with wireless networks, preferably Cisco wireles and knowledge of network hardware and software technologies and best practice

Bonus points:

• Basic knowledge of AWS/Azure Cloud networks, GIT, Terraform or Python, Atlassian products: Jira/Confluence

• Certified in CCNA or any equivalent certificate in network industry

• Experience in large scale network monitoring, automation, and testing

• Familiar with Spine and Leaf network topology

• Hands-on experience with Palo Alto Firewalls and Panorama

Alongside Northvolt Ett, Northvolt is also establishing a manufacturing site for battery systems in Gdansk, Poland. This facility, Northvolt Battery Systems Jeden, will industrialize and produce world leading battery systems in order to meet the increased demand for complete battery solutions on the European market. The factory is a highly automated, state-of-the-art production facility for battery modules and energy storage solutions.

We are currently in an exciting fast-growing phase and operate in a dynamic environment, dealing with a wide range of stakeholders. We are staffing our international office in Stockholm, our R&D facility, Northvolt Labs in Västerås, as well as Northvolt Battery Systems Jeden, in Gdansk, for production of battery systems. We are also preparing for upcoming positions at the main factory, Northvolt Ett, in Skellefteå.
