For the Operational Management department, Platform Support (OM PS), based at our European office in Hamburg, Germany, we are looking for a COG (Corporate Operations and Governance) Platform Support Project Manager.

How to contribute to our vision

As a Platform Support Project Manager within Siemens Gamesa, you will interface with our main stakeholders and be accountable for operational activities throughout the development and prototype phase until a smooth handoff to serial production occurs for the platform / product assigned.  You will be the Corporate Operations & Governance (COG) representative in Direct Drive projects. 

  • You coordinate a cross functional team to ensure results in cost and time, aligning priorities and escalating possible challenges that the team finds that can impact not delivering in time.
  • You will coordinate the PLM support for COG and act as the Key Interface to TE.
  • You ensure data quality and transparency with the help of KPIs.
  • You will facilitate the identification of cost out ideas to guarantee product competitiveness throughout product lifetime.
  • You work in close collaboration with the Stakeholders in the PLM Projects to identify risks & opportunities on platform target achievement for the Management Team.
  • You ensure suppliers are involved in the earliest steps of the product development.

Your job will also involve….

  • Focus the efforts on driving the concepts of design to cost and design for function and align internally in procurement on the platform needs in terms of time cost and quality
  • Promote open design to avoid single source situations at later stage
  • Drive and/or contribute to projects and programs to ensure best in class procurement engineering practices
  • Communicate status within project team, on cost and sourcing
  • Follow-up with design/quality reviews
  • Ensure transparency on components design, procurement and manufacturing by monitoring target settings
  • Contribute with cost out ideas identification throughout development and once the products are in serial production

What you need to make a difference

Passion for renewable energy and a sense for the importance to lead to change. We also looking for a person who thrives in an international environment and is assertive, proactive, and results oriented. You have a structured and hands-on approach to complex tasks and have experience in leading a team. You have experience in Project Management and working in cross-functional teams.  We expect you to hold a relevant engineering degree combined with several years of experience in manufacturing and/or procurement. You also have good experience within the IT technologies Microsoft Office, SAP, and Team Center and are fluent in English (compulsory), German and/or Spanish (desired)
