Head of Heat Operations (m/f/d) – Heat Pumps Department Lead

As Head of Heat Operations in our Renewable Energy division, you are both architect and operational lead of our fastest-growing business unit. Your mission: industrial scaling of heat pump installations in multi-family buildings. You ensure a seamless customer journey for every client, supported by a high-performing team.

Most installations are carried out by a network of specialised subcontractors, so your main focus is managing and scaling this partner ecosystem. You create structures where digital data capture and app-based field-service workflows become best-practice, enabling subcontractors to deliver our quality standards “as if in-house.”

Key responsibilities

  • Build and lead the Heat team (regional leads, HVAC technicians, project managers and survey engineers)
  • Grow and manage our subcontractor network, negotiate contracts and define quality criteria
  • Design and optimise internal and external processes for scale and efficiency
  • Own departmental KPIs on budget, schedule and quality; report directly to the executive board
  • Set technical benchmarks for system design, installation and commissioning

  • Your profile

  • University degree in Supply Engineering / Renewable Energy (or comparable) with deep heat-pump know-how
  • 5+ years professional experience, including 3–4 years in a team-lead role
  • Proven track record of steering subcontractors on large-scale projects
  • Aptitude in digital field-service tools and data-driven decision making
  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to create win-win relationships

  • Why join us?

  • Shape a modern, tech-led installation model instead of outdated structures
  • Central oversight of hundreds of sites through proprietary data and app platform
  • Rapid revenue growth while maintaining operational excellence
  • Direct contribution to decarbonising buildings and reducing Germany’s carbon footprint

  • Benefits include company car (private use allowed), performance bonus and profit sharing, mobility & health budget (bike leasing or Deutschland-Ticket), company pension plan, Urban Sports Club membership, mental-health support platform and a vibrant, open-minded community embracing shared decision-making and regular team events.
