Commissioning Engineer – HVDC Systems

Your Role at a Glance

Within our HVDC Control Team we design, implement and verify hardware and software for innovative HVDC applications using agile methods. Our multicultural teams cooperate closely with project management, system and equipment engineering as well as end customers to deliver tailored solutions based on the latest HVDC technology.

Your Responsibilities

• Technically flawless, on-time and cost-efficient commissioning of HVDC systems at construction sites worldwide
• Integration and functional testing of control & protection systems (C&P) in our German test facilities
• Preparing and executing test procedures and programmes for converter controls including verification documentation
• Planning, conducting and evaluating workshop tests (acceptance tests) at sub-suppliers
• Supporting commissioning management in quality, risk and claim management
• Participating in improvement programmes (Lean, reviews, lessons learned)

Your Background

• Degree in electrical or energy engineering or comparable qualification
• Experience with MATLAB/Simulink or similar, Siemens SIMATIC TDC/S7
• Advantage: hands-on experience with HVDC systems (control, regulation, measurement, protection and communication)
• Fluent English; German beneficial
• Willingness to travel worldwide and undertake long-term assignments at construction sites in Germany and abroad, including optional offshore platform work
