Field Service Engineer

Siemens Gamesa is shaping the future of renewable energy. For our Onshore North America Technical Office we are looking for a Field Service Engineer to technically support and control wind-turbine assembly on U.S. project sites.

Your tasks

  • Implement and continuously optimize assembly documentation for all SGRE onshore platforms
  • Step-by-step transfer of new or updated technical documents from corporate engineering to local teams and site fitters
  • Point of contact for RFI handling between construction site, Great-Services technical office and corporate R&D
  • Create and maintain training materials for contractors and customers
  • Ensure the latest document revision is contract-compliant, logically structured and user-friendly on site
  • Support project manager & project engineer in time and safety management of all deliverables
  • Identify process improvements in the assembly sequence with a view to global roll-outs
  • Define spare-part lists and alternative components per platform
  • Capture and analyse “lessons learned” from first installations and feed back to design, purchasing, manufacturing and logistics
  • Update monthly KPIs for North America upper management

Your profile

  • University degree in engineering (mechanical preferred; final-semester students welcome); MSc or MBA advantageous
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in design engineering or project management, ideally in the wind industry
  • Sound MS-Office and CAD skills; CATIA knowledge preferred
  • Ability to perform structured root-cause analysis and derive countermeasures
  • Strong communication and team skills at all hierarchy levels
  • Willingness to travel 20–30 % (U.S. site assignments)
  • Experience with large-scale, high-visibility projects
