Senior Technical Advisor – Canada

Nordex is seeking a Senior Technical Advisor for Canadian wind projects. You will lead technically complex assembly and installation work from delivery to final hand-over, ensuring the highest quality, safety and environmental standards. Without formal line authority you assume leadership and coordination duties on site, advise customers and subcontractors and act as the primary technical contact. In addition, you continuously develop your team colleagues through training, coaching and knowledge management.

Your responsibilities

  • Enforce all Nordex safety protocols on the construction site.
  • Provide technical leadership and coordination of technicians and subcontractors throughout all project phases.
  • Coordinate with site and TA managers to execute projects on schedule and in compliance with Nordex quality standards.
  • Solve complex installation problems and provide advanced troubleshooting.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate safety risks.
  • Conduct practical training for technicians and contractors.
  • Set performance and quality expectations and identify training needs.
  • Mentor and build the technical skills of the technician team.
  • Attend site meetings, prepare detailed technical reports and support project transfers.
  • Monitor project progress, risks and corrective actions.
  • Contribute to knowledge databases and training materials.

Your profile

  • ≥5 years mechanical/electrical/construction supervision (onshore wind experience preferred).
  • Technical diploma or engineering degree, or equivalent qualification.
  • Proven expertise in quality management and wind-turbine installation.
  • Proficient in MS Office and project-management tools.
  • Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel (>80% on site, including remote locations).
  • Physical fitness: climb towers up to 122 m, work in confined spaces, lift 46 kg, wear full PPE.
  • Weight <120 kg for climbing equipment.
  • Fluent English essential; French an advantage for Québec work; Spanish/German beneficial.
  • Authorised to work in Canada without sponsorship.
  • Strong communication, organisational and project-management skills.
  • High safety and quality awareness plus professional integrity.
  • Willingness to travel and valid passport.

Compensation & Benefits

CAD 53–61 per hour plus up to 5% bonus (≈ CAD 9,184–10,564 monthly gross). Further benefits include life and supplemental insurance, disability and extended health coverage, dental, REER matching (up to CAD 5,000) and travel allowances.
