Commissioning Engineer HVDC & Substations

Your Day-to-Day

As a Commissioning Engineer you will bring HVDC systems and substations to life. You will lead on-site commissioning of MV/LV auxiliary systems, HV switchgear, transformers and advanced control & protection technology.

You will test, integrate and safely release every component before hand-over, working closely with engineering teams, carrying out hands-on tests and maintaining clear documentation.

Your Responsibilities

• Lead commissioning of MV/LV auxiliary equipment, HV switchgear, transformers, UPS and generator sets
• Test and commission control, protection and interlocking systems
• Prepare and execute detailed test plans, analyse results and verify system performance
• Review test documentation, hardware drawings and schematics together with engineering teams
• Produce comprehensive commissioning reports and keep accurate technical records
• Support quality assurance, risk management and continuous-improvement activities

Your Qualifications

• Degree in electrical engineering or related discipline
• Experience with MV/HV substations and HVDC technology
• Skilled in using test equipment (Omicron) and engineering tools (DIGSI, SIPROTEC)
• Solid background in protection systems, system integration and fault-finding
• Strong focus on safety, quality and precise documentation
• Global travel availability for project assignments
