Job Description

As a Software Engineer in the Software & Automation team in Västerås you will be responsible for delivering monitoring, traceability and control for all machines at our Labs Campus site. The systems are largely centered around our IoT-architecture and the affiliated tools developed for the users in the factory, where our software primarily runs on edge gateways, providing the link between control system and cloud environment.

With your strong programming capabilities and analytical mindset, you will thrive and find passion in solving complex issues across functions.

In this role, you will be contributing in building Europe's leading campus for battery technologies and play an important role in the design and development of the battery factories and battery test facilities, which will help the transformation to a carbon free society.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Develop, test and deploy software systems for automation, data collection and machine learning applications.
  • Maintain and support the implementations with the factory’s various functions.
  • Collaborate with a cross-functional group of experts across the company to make sure we build the right things together for the right reasons.
  • Design solutions for how to integrate our MES system with our equipment.
  • Assist, oversee and lead design, development and test of systems in the software technologies.
  • Participate in the planning and implementation of new equipment.
  • Work with other software teams to enable deployment of new products.
  • Test and validate supplier implementation of equipment connectivity interface.

Skills & Requirements

We believe that you have :

  • Basic knowledge of algorithms, data structures, concurrency, distributed systems and eventual consistency.
  • Experience with one or several programming languages (Go, Python, Java, ...).
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS).
  • Experience with databases (DynamoDB, SQL) and tools.
  • Good communication skills, a learning mindset, and the ability to Get Stuff Done.
  • The skill to understand complex problems and develop maintainable software solutions for them.
  • Passion for solving problems with technology.
  • Proficient level of English.

Bonus points for:

  • Previous experience in dealing with IoT-systems.
  • Experience in an industrial setting.
  • General understanding of battery production process.
  • Previous experience working in a multi-cultural environment.
