Quality Engineer – Incoming Material Control

Work location: No. 299 Tianning Road, Minhang District, Shanghai

Tasks & Responsibilities

• First-article and series testing of critical quality characteristics on metals through destructive tests, e.g. coating thickness, heat aging, mechanical properties, microstructure and composition
• Building and maintaining an accredited metallography lab, expanding test capabilities and implementing a laboratory quality management system
• Preparing and continuously adapting inspection plans; leading root-cause analyses of complex metal failures
• Managing equipment and consumables; ensuring full EHS compliance; providing training to enhance laboratory skills
• Conducting supplier process audits and releases; reviewing first-article and product certifications
• Collecting and analysing inspection data, identifying quality trends and deriving improvement measures in cross-functional cooperation

Your Profile

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Metallurgy or similar
• 3–5 years of experience in mechanical or electrical industry, including at least 2 years managing a metallography laboratory
• Deep knowledge of metallurgy, heat treatment and metal failure analysis; experience with metallographic image-analysis software is an advantage
• Strong sense of responsibility, scientific accuracy, analytical mindset, excellent communication skills and team orientation
• Fluent English for daily communication preferred
• Willingness to travel occasionally for product and process certification/audits
