Mechanical Engineer – Transformer Structure

Your Role in a Nutshell

Based on the order checklist, product risk level (MOC), electrical calculation sheets and global transformer design rules (TDR), you will deliver reliable, cost-efficient and manufacturing-friendly mechanical designs for large power transformers within the given timeframe, using Siemens in-house tools and specially developed automated design software while ensuring full compliance with customer specifications and relevant Chinese/international standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Create complete mechanical designs (layout, core, windings, leads, tank, final assembly, secondary systems) on schedule according to checklist, TB and TDR.
2. Lead customer design reviews, implement and approve changes to guarantee fulfilment of all requirements and applicable standards.
3. Organise internal design reviews to verify economic efficiency and manufacturability; drive continuous optimisation.
4. Propose and implement technical innovations and global best-practice technologies.
5. Initiate and execute cost-out programmes.
6. Provide technical support to production, quality and after-sales teams.

Your Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Automation or related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in transformer mechanical design.
• Proficient in CAD/CAE and automated sizing tools.
• Sound knowledge of IEC, GB and other relevant standards.
• Effective communication skills in Chinese and English.
