Head of Medium Gas Turbine (MGT) R&D – Singapore Team

Your Day at a Glance

You will lead an R&D team developing an ammonia-fired gas turbine – a flagship project for a decarbonised energy system. Milestones include first design freeze, simulation validation and pilot-plant commissioning. The MGT R&D community is centred in Finspång, Sweden and Gurgaon, India; for a customer-specific pilot we are now building a team in Singapore.

Together with discipline leads in Finspång you will recruit and onboard high-calibre staff in Singapore. Once the team is in place you will steer daily work covering mechanical design, advanced CFD, combustion & integrity simulation, and later operate verification tests in the new pilot facility.

The project is part of Siemens Energy’s R&D roadmap for decarbonised power generation and offers unique career exposure to cutting-edge technology and collaboration with global experts.

How You Will Make an Impact

• Build and lead the Singapore R&D team with clear milestones: design freeze, simulation validation, pilot-plant commissioning
• Mentor team members through regular feedback, technical workshops and hands-on project guidance
• Contribute to the global MGT R&D leadership team, shaping product-line strategy and progress
• Coordinate Singapore project activities with Finspång and Gurgaon teams, ensuring seamless collaboration and knowledge transfer
• Drive cutting-edge R&D initiatives within an international network

What You Bring

• Master’s degree in engineering
• Proven track record in R&D leadership roles
• Demonstrated ability to build and develop engineering teams
• Strong collaboration skills across Siemens Energy’s global engineering network
• Creative mindset pushing technical boundaries while maintaining rigorous R&D quality standards
• Willingness to travel up to 40 %
• Legal right to work in Singapore
