At the core of our Data Products & Insights department, Analytics Development team is responsible for enabling business decisions and process with scientific products/insights across the entire value chain in Vestas. Based out of Chennai, India, but with global focus, the team collaborates with AI Center of Enablement and Data Analytics Product Owners across the globe to develop impactful solutions that empower business to understand and continuously improve in multiple functions like Service Operations, Supply Chain, Finance and Commercial globally; and creates transparency that enables data driven business optimization, through solid scientific capability & data centricity combined with business knowledge enabling Vestas maintain a global position in Analytics in the renewable energy industry.

Responsibilities    

  • Enable a data driven organization through data analytics deployed via self-service tools, to make better decisions based on insights from data, to improve operational performance
  • Create new insights through programming and solid product engineering principles to improve trust and enable better decision making
  • Support statistical and advanced analytics modeling impacting Operational decision making
  • Continuous improvement of existing data products through own initiative and stakeholder feedback
  • Support with developing and tracking key business & operational performance indicators

Qualifications    

  • Background in Engineering / Applied Statistics at Bachelors (Degree in Computer Science, IT, Business Science, Engineering or similar)
  • Relevant experience in data analytics, business intelligence, advanced SQL and python programming
  • Previous experience from exposure to multi-cultural and international organizations with a product-driven culture
  • 2+ years of working experience as a Data Analyst

Competencies: Data Analytics Experience

  • Enterprise working experience in Analytics teams with a Product Driven mindset in design, development, and maintenance of Products
  • Advanced working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL) as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases (RDBMS, Datawarehouse, Datalake)
  • Strong foundation in Visual design, Storytelling, Descriptive and Advanced Analytics to build BI dashboards that are visually compelling, scalable and high-performing solutions

Tools/Technologies/Frameworks:

  • Strong working experience in enterprise Microsoft Power BI in building Apps, Dashboards and reports is mandatory
  • Hands-on working experience in Azure Analysis services to build tabular models is mandatory
  • Solid hands-on working experience in Azure data ecosystem and Snowflake is mandatory
  • Experience in Python scripting is preferred
  • Understanding of concepts around CI/CD, version controls is a nice-to-have

Business/Soft Skills:

  • Strong business acumen that enables you to make recommendations to the operational business based on data insight, i.e. proven business domain knowledge in the areas we support like Service Operations, Supply Chain, Commercial or Quality
  • Bring not just an analytics-orientation, but the ability to use analytics to drive key success metrics related to yield management and revenue generation
  • Experienced on the Industry side, and decidedly "hands-on" and not just theoretical
  • Familiar with business metrics such as KPIs and other indicators
  • Pro-active, curious, structured, self-motivated, reliable, credible, open minded, ambitious
  • Fluency in English and have good communication, presentation skills
