Sub Project Manager HVDC Control & Protection

Siemens Energy is building a new business function for the expanding UK offshore and HVDC interconnector market. As Sub-Project Manager you will lead a team of HVDC engineers in designing and delivering complete control & protection solutions for offshore wind farms and HVDC links, utilising the new transient network analysis laboratory in Manchester.

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Lead preparation of proposals and project management of HVDC control & protection systems, ensuring on-time, on-cost and on-quality delivery
• Provide technical leadership to the Control & Protection offer/order team, working closely with project management, project leads and experts in studies, software, hardware and testing
• Plan, monitor and manage all offer and order aspects: technical concept, scope, schedule, resource planning, costing, quality control and risk/opportunity management
• Oversee sub-contracting activities to ensure alignment with project objectives
• Manage reporting, information flow, documentation and order closure throughout the project lifecycle
• Drive process and design reviews for robust engineering and continuous improvement

What You Bring

• University degree (≥4 years) in electrical engineering or comparable discipline
• Extensive professional experience including project management
• Knowledge of high-voltage technology and control systems; HVDC and plant engineering beneficial
• Proficient in MS Office and project management tools
• Fluent English; German advantageous. Willingness to travel occasionally for customer clarification and commissioning support
