Working Student Software Engineering (m/f/d)

We are looking for a Working Student Software Engineering (m/f/d) to join our tech team in Berlin, Munich or Hamburg.

1KOMMA5° is building Germany’s largest one-stop shop for selling, installing and servicing solar panels, heat pumps, electricity storage and charging infrastructure – all intelligently connected. Help us accelerate the energy transition in private households and small businesses.

Your responsibilities

• Contribute to our ERP and service platform that digitises sales, planning and installation processes
• Develop and maintain customer-facing features in close collaboration with product management and design
• Translate complex business processes into clear technical requirements
• Run experiments and rapid iterations to continuously improve user experience and system quality
• Reduce tech debt, automate workflows, carry out code reviews and documentation
• Share knowledge within the team and participate in code reviews

• Backend: Ruby on Rails, TypeScript, Node.js, NestJS
• Frontend: React, TypeScript, Next.js, Vercel
• Mobile: Flutter
• Cloud: Google Cloud Platform (Cloud Run, PubSub, CloudSQL, Firestore, BigQuery)
• Observability: Datadog
• IaC: Terraform
• CI/CD: GitHub Actions

What you bring

• At least two more semesters at a German university in computer science or a comparable field
• First practical experience with TypeScript and modern web development
• Basic knowledge of REST-API design and testing strategies
• Agile mindset, team spirit and passion for clean code
• Very good English skills, German is a plus
• Residency in Germany and availability of 20 hrs./week

Nice-to-have

• Experience in the energy sector or start-ups
• Personal projects or open-source contributions
