Senior Legal Counsel (m/f/d)

SMA’s Legal Services team advises all business units worldwide on civil, commercial, antitrust and capital-market law as well as M&A projects. As an in-house competence centre we accompany customer, supplier and cooperation agreements from review to final signing.

Your responsibilities

• Legal advice: End-to-end legal guidance on civil and commercial law matters, from review and drafting to decision-making
• Contract management: Lead complex international contract projects and negotiations; act as legal sparring partner for Legal Contract Managers
• Litigation: Defend claims against the company and coordinate external counsel
• Strategic projects: Work closely with the Head of Legal on business-critical initiatives with an option to succeed him/her
• Management & capital-market advice: Counsel top management and support the bodies of a German-listed stock corporation
• Risk management: Design and deliver training to raise legal awareness and minimise risk

Your profile

• Fully qualified lawyer (2nd German state exam or equivalent foreign degree with bar admission)
• Several years of relevant experience in an international company or top-tier law firm, preferably renewable-energy sector
• Proven expertise in German, European and international civil & commercial law, antitrust law and dispute resolution
• Additional knowledge: corporate and capital-market law, tax or insurance law, compliance & governance
• Negotiation-level English; international experience or LL.M. advantageous
• Solution-oriented, highly communicative and self-reliant
